Well, it's been awhile, but I'm back to couponing. I took some time off during the holidays (before halloween) to use my energy to concentrate on...well...the holidays of course!
It was nice not to have to worry about what deals were out there and to see my stockpile get used...and no, it didn't get used all up...heck it barely got a dent put into it!!
Anyways I'm back in the game and I'm definitely learned from my time off that I don't need to go nuts over trying to get as many deals as possible crammed into one week! For instance, today I did my deal for the week- I went to Rite Aid and bought 2 pgs of Halls cough drops, 1 therma care wrap, and 2 pgs of pads. For all of the items I paid about $5...which is great because the 2 pgs of pads alone would have been $5 without the coupons and +up rewards.
Now the old me would probably be scouring the internet for more deals to do this week, but because I have a big enough stockpile already, I can give it a rest until next saturday- when I look for my deals and then sunday I go shopping.
This is also good for me because before I stopped for the holidays, I started to get an us-vs-them attitude about couponing. This is because when I do use my coupons, it can be a bit of a hassle from the stores or even cashiers themselves! For instance, at one of the rite aids that I shop at, there is a cashier who always gives me a bad attitude just because I'm getting a good deal. She'll snip at me and say how she lives alone and doesn't use coupons...WELL I'M NOT YOU AM I?!
And THANK GOD too! But it just shows how that kind of nasty attitude can wear a couponer down...thus my need for a break.
