Recently I received an email from one of my coupon e-newsletter subscriptions stating that there has been a recall on all Novartis products. (recall information here) These include Excedrin which I have a small stockpile of. Well, I checked out the Novartis recall website and printed out 7 recall forms for my 7 bottles of Excedrin. Boy what a headache! However, this will be in my favor because I picked up all 7 bottles very very cheap due to my couponing skills! So when I get my money back, I will have made money! Of course, it still stinks that I had to give up part of my stockpile- especially a medicine I use regularly and which took me a couple of months to gather.
Now, speaking of...the bottom....I just learned a new stockpiling tip! When you buy toilet paper, don't look at the amt of rolls, look at the total square footage which is printed in small print on the package. This should be your guide as to how much you should be paying for the package. For example, if I buy a pack of toilet paper and it has printed on it 656.4 sq ft, move the decimal two places to the left and round up= 6.56. If the toilet paper is priced at $8.00 per package for 656.4 sq ft) then you know it's overpriced, but if it's priced at $5.00 per package (for 656.4 sq ft) BEFORE coupons, you've already got a good deal...and then you throw the coupons on top and you have yourself a great price to stock up on!!
